2021 年 2 月 12 日 —美国人口普查局今日宣布将于 2021 年 9 月 30 日向各州 (state) 提交公众法律 94-171 重划选区数据。人口普查局在 2021 年 3 月 31 日前向各州 (state) 交付重划选区数据的原计划被推迟,原因在于新冠病毒 Covid -19 疫情导致了延迟以及优先交付了国会席位分配结果。

与以往的人口普查不同的是,人口普查局将一次性提供所有州 (state) 的数据,不会分批提交。之所以做出这一更改,是由于新冠病毒 Covid -19 疫情导致数据收集和数据处理时间表发生了变化,这使人口普查局能够更及时地为各州 (state) 提供完整和准确的重划选区数据。

重划选区数据包括按种族、族裔(西班牙裔或拉美裔后裔)、投票年龄、住房的住用状态和团体住所/集体宿舍人口人数划分的信息,所有数据都在人口普查区块层面细分。这是各州 (state) 重新划定或“重划选区”立法边界所需要的信息。

在准备交付重划选区数据产品时,人口普查局一直与各州 (state) 的官方无党派联络员密切协调,以了解延迟交付对各州(state) 的影响。自 2019 年以来,各州 (state) 获得了 2018 年人口普查测试的原型地理支持产品和数据表,以帮助他们开始设计重划选区的系统。各州 (state) 可以利用这个工具帮助减小工作进度延迟的影响。此外,人口普查局今天完成了重划选区所需的所有州 (state) 2020 年人口普查地理产品的发布。这将使各州 (state) 能够在收到其 2020 年人口普查表数据后立即开始重划选区的工作。
