선거구 획정 데이터 처리 일정에 대한 인구조사국 성명

2021년 2월 12일 — 미국 인구조사국은 오늘 공법 94-171에 따른 선거구 획정 데이터를 2021년 9월 30일까지 모든 주(state)에 제출할 것이라고 발표했습니다. COVID-19와 관련된 지연 및 하원 의석수 할당 결과 제출 우선 처리로 인해 선거구 획정 데이터를 2021년 3월 31일까지 모든 주(state)에 제출하려고 했던 인구조사국의 원래 계획이 지연되었습니다.

이전의 센서스 인구조사와는 달리, 인구조사국은 집계가 완료되는 순서대로 데이터를 제출하는 대신 모든 주(state)에 대한 데이터를 한 번에 제공하게 될 것입니다. 이 변경은 데이터 수집 및 데이터 처리 일정이 COVID-19로 인해 바뀐 결과로 이루어 졌는 데 이로 인해 인구조사국은 보다 완전하고 정확한 선거구 획정 데이터를 보다 적시에 주(state)에 제출할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 되었습니다.

선거구 획정 데이터에는 센서스 인구조사 블록 수준에 있는 모든 인종, 출신 민족(히스패닉 또는 중남미 계통), 투표 연령, 주택 거주 상태 및 집단 주거 시설 인구별 인구 수가 포함됩니다. 이것은 주(state)가 입법 경계선 변경 즉"선거구 확정"에 필요로 하는 정보입니다.
