2023 ACS 1-Year Estimates

New Tables

Housing
Housing Costs as a Percentage of Household Income by Race
  • Nine new race and ethnicity iterated tables were added for the existing B25140.  The new tables, B25140A-B25140I, show Housing Costs as a Percentage of Household Income greater than 30% and greater than 50% for owners with a mortgage, owners without a mortgage, and renters.
Homeowner's Insurance Costs by Mortgage Status (Yearly)
  • New table B25141 shows homeowner's insurance costs for owners with a mortgage and owners without a mortgage.
Race
  • Three new Detailed Tables provide estimates for the American Indian and Alaska Native population. These tables now provide estimates for detailed American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages instead of tribal groupings. Tables B02020 and C02020 show data for the American Indian and Alaska Native alone population for selected tribes and villages. Table B02021 provides data for the American Indian and Alaska Native alone or in any combination population for selected tribes and villages. Based on feedback from tribal leaders through consultation, we have discontinued the use of tribal groupings.

Modified Tables

Field of Degree
  • The geographies shown for Detailed Tables B15013 and B15014 were modified to nation and state. Estimates of median annual earnings for detailed field of degree groups have high variance at lower levels of geography. Previously these tables were also available for geographies lower than state level, for example counties and places.
Industry
  • The following tables were modified to reflect changes in the 2022 Census Industry Code List mandated by revisions to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The NAICS was revised in 2022. Modified tables include: B24030, B24040, B24134, B24135, and B24136.
  • Industry code ranges were added to row labels in industry tables B24030 and B24040.  The updated labels make these unique groupings more readily transparent for data users.
Journey to Work and Migration
  • Subject Tables S0802 and S0804 were modified to include the category “Worked from home.” The other categories in these tables remain comparable to prior years.
Occupation
  • Occupation code ranges were added to row labels in occupation tables B24010 and B24020.  The updated labels make these unique groupings more readily transparent for data users.
Quality Measures
  • In Detailed Table B98021, Line 9 was renamed "Contact Attempts Halted" to reflect the wider variety of non-interviews now included.
Race
  • The universe label for Detailed Table B02010 was modified from “People who are American Indian or Alaska Native alone or in combination with one or more other races” to “American Indian or Alaska Native alone or in combination with one or more other races.”
  • Row labels were added to tables DP05 and CP05 to include detailed American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages. The detailed American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages added are “Aztec,” “Blackfeet Tribe of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation of Montana,” “Maya,” “Native Village of Barrow Inupiat Traditional Government,” “Navajo Nation,” “Nome Eskimo Community,” and “Other American Indian and Alaska Native.”  Previously shown estimates for tribal groups have been discontinued due to feedback from tribal leaders.

Deleted Tables

  • Detailed Tables B02014, C02014, and B02017 are no longer available. Based on feedback from tribal leaders through consultation, we have discontinued the use of tribal groupings which were featured in these tables.
