2011-2015 ACS 5-Year Selected Population Tables (SPT) and 2011-2015 ACS 5-Year American Indian and Alaska Native Tables (AIANT) Released July 13

Every five years, the Census Bureau releases two data products containing the greatest level of statistical detail for detailed race, Hispanic Origin, tribal, and ancestry population groups.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year SPTs are available for:

416 detailed race, Hispanic Origin, ancestry, and tribal groups.

Geographic areas down to the census tract level.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year AIANTs are available for:

1,119 detailed American Indian and Alaska Native tribes.

Geographic areas including Alaska Native Regional Corporations, and American Indian and Alaska Native Areas.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year SPTs and AIANTs are based on data collected from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year SPTs and AIANTs are available in American FactFinder. Search for a detailed population group to start exploring these tables.

Additional Documentation Released

Documentation on the accuracy of the data was released today and additional supporting materials were released last week.

Select Documentation Available for 2011-2015 ACS 5-Year Selected Population Tables and 2011-2015 ACS 5-Year American Indian and Alaska Native Tables

Every five years, the Census Bureau releases two data products containing the greatest level of statistical detail for detailed race, Hispanic Origin, tribal, and ancestry population groups. Supporting documentation is now available to prepare for next week's release of the 2011-2015 ACS 5-year Selected Population Tables and 2011-2015 ACS 5-year American Indian and Alaska Native Tables.

The documentation contains details on the available:

Tables: Browse the list of available Data Profiles and Detailed Tables for next week's release, and find equivalent table numbers for previous datasets.

Population Groups: Access the code lists to determine if tables are available for a specific population group.

Geographies: View the list of geographic areas available for each set of tables in next week's release.

Comparison Guidance: Definitions of American Indian and Alaska Native tribes change over time. Reference the comparison guidelines to determine whether data for these groups are comparable to statistics from previous datasets.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year PUMS files are now available in American FactFinder, the FTP site, and DataFerrett.

Additional PUMS documentation, including the PUMS ReadMe, Accuracy of the PUMS, and PUMS Estimates for User Verification, has been released to help users with the release of the 2011-2015 ACS 5-year PUMS files.

2011-2015 ACS Variance Replicate Estimates Tables and Documentation Released January 19, 2017

2011-2015 ACS Variance Replicate Estimates Tables are now available through the Variance Replicate Estimates Tables data page and the Census Bureau's FTP site. These tables allow advanced data users to calculate margins of error when collapsing data within a table or across geographies.

Variance Replicate Estimates Tables Documentation is now available to calculate margins of error for aggregated estimates, percentages, and ratios. Explore the worked examples and learn which tables and types of geographic areas have variance replicate estimates.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year estimates are available in American FactFinder and the API.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year estimates are based on data collected from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2015.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year estimates are available for geographic areas down to the census tract and block group levels.

2011-2015 ACS 5-year Narrative Profiles Available

2011-2015 ACS 5-year Narrative Profiles are available for state, county, place, metropolitan/micropolitan statistical area, ZIP Code Tabulation Area, American Indian Area/Alaska Native Area/Hawaiian Home Land and census tract. Narrative Profiles summarize many topics using nontechnical text and graphs. Visit both the ACS Narrative Profiles page and American FactFinder for continuous profile data since 2009.

Updated ACS 5-year and Census 2000 SF3 Table Comparisons

Visit our ACS/Census 2000 Table Comparisons tool to find comparable tables between ACS 5-year estimates and Census 2000 Summary File 3 detailed tables.

Summary File Data

The 5-year Summary File data on the FTP site are now available. Supporting materials were released last week.

2016 Determinations for Section 203 of the Voting Rights Act Released December 5

The U.S. Census Bureau released 2016 determinations for the Voting Rights Act listing 263 jurisdictions that are required to provide language assistance for groups of citizens who are unable to speak or understand English adequately. Specific Hispanic, American Indian and Alaska Native, and Asian language groups are eligible for language assitance. Determinations were made using 2010-2014 ACS 5-year estimates. Release Schedule

The 2011-2015 American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates will be released on Thursday, December 8, 2016. These data will be available for all geographic areas including census tracts, ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs), and block groups. The 2011-2015 ACS 5-year PUMS files and 2011-2015 ACS 5-year replicate estimates will be released on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Release Schedule

The 2015 ACS 1-year estimates will be released on Thursday, September 15, 2016.  These data will be available for the nation, all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, every congressional district, every metropolitan area, and all counties and places with populations of 65,000 or more. The 2015 ACS 1-year Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files and 2015 ACS 1-year supplemental estimates will be released on Thursday, October 20, 2016.
