U.S. Census Bureau to Unveil 2020 Census Advertising and Outreach Campaign

Press Release Number CB20-CN.01

Event to Provide First Public Preview of Nation’s Largest Civic Outreach Campaign

What:

The U.S. Census Bureau will unveil its comprehensive national advertising and outreach campaign for the 2020 Census – more than 1,000 advertisements have been developed to reach audiences across the country that will be shared publicly for the first time at the preview event.

The event will show the Census Bureau’s commitment to reaching all audiences, including those that are hard-to-count, with advertisements in English and 12 other languages, and to encourage participation in the 2020 Census. The event will also highlight the Census Bureau’s efforts to recruit temporary, part-time census takers nationwide for the 2020 Census.

A news conference is being held with Census Bureau executives and representatives of Team Y&R, the advertising and communications team of 13 agencies with expertise in communication with multicultural and historically undercounted groups. Officials will be available for Q&As and one-on-one interviews following the program.

Attendees will have an opportunity to tour a tradeshow-style exhibit featuring creative executions for each of the multicultural population segments represented in the campaign.  Additional exhibits will feature key outreach programs, including Statistics in Schools and partnerships.
