Christine Taylor is acting division chief for the Public Information Office. She was the assistant news director at WJZ-TV in Baltimore for nearly 16 years and was instrumental in developing and growing the station’s online and social media presence in addition to overseeing more than seven hours of on-air news coverage daily.
Before coming to the Census Bureau in 2015, Taylor has worked as a broadcast journalist for almost 30 years. Her career has taken her to affiliates in such markets as Washington, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Pittsburgh. She completed a master’s degree in marketing management at University of Maryland, University College in 2017 and earned her undergraduate degree in English journalism from the University of Delaware. A former adjunct professor at Goucher College in Baltimore, Taylor taught broadcast journalism and intercultural communications for 13 years. A native of New Jersey, Taylor lives in Maryland with her husband, Dan, and daughter, Ryan.
