Abstract

The estimates given in this report are consistent with the estimates of the total population of States published in Ourrent Population Reports, Series P-25, No. 145, but they are not consistent with the estimates of the population of States by broad age groups for earlier postcensal years published in Current Population Reports, Series P-25, No. 130.  Estimates of the civilian population of the States and Hawaii in six broad age groups are presented in this report: under 5 years old, 5 to 17 years old, 18 to 34 years old, 35 to 44 years old, 45 to 64 years old and 65 years old and over. In addition, the age groups 14 years old and over, 18 years old and over, and 21 years old and over are shown.
