In this video, we explore how to determine whether your area is urban or rural using tools from the U.S. Census Bureau. While the Census Bureau defines urban areas, it doesn’t officially define rural ones. We’ll walk you through three simple tools: Geocoder, TIGERweb, and data.census.gov, to help you pinpoint your location and explore urban area boundaries. Whether you’re planning infrastructure or applying for grants, these tips will make it easy to understand your area’s classification.
