2023 Typhoon Mawar

Formed: May 19, 2023
Dissipated: June 3, 2023

Typhoon Mawar was a Category 4 super typhoon with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph (241 kph) or greater when it crossed the northern tip of Guam. It was the strongest typhoon to hit the U.S. Pacific territory since 2002.

The weather service office issued forecasts for Guam as well as several islands to the north — Saipan, Tinian and Rota — that are part of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, another U.S. territory. (AP News}
