2014 Panel Wave 3: Dependent Interviewing and (EHEARING, ESEEING)

In the 2014 SIPP Panel, people who report having difficulties hearing or seeing (EHEARING, ESEEING) are reminded of their responses in the next SIPP wave.  This practice is called dependent interviewing and has been shown to improve data quality.  As a result of dependent interviewing, people may be less likely to report a change for these disability items.  For most cases, people reminded of their previous hearing or seeing limitation verify whether this disability report remains accurate.  However, on rare occasions when a person started an interview but did not complete it, this disability information may be brought forward even if a person did not verify their previous report.
