Online codebook tool for searching SIPP metadata.

Microdata Access Tool

The Census Microdata Access Tool (MDAT) allows data users to create custom tabulations and extracts using published microdata. For custom extracts, identification (ID) variables must be activated in the “Type” column filter to search and select these items.

⚠️ This tool is in Beta. Users might encounter bugs or incomplete tabulations. 

⚠️ MDAT-based SIPP tables can include duplicate records if correct universing is not used. We recommend users have experience working with SIPP data – or review a Panel/year’s respective Users’ Guide or Technical Documentation – before creating tables with MDAT. Please contact the SIPP Coordination and Outreach Staff with questions.
