The Service Annual Survey (SAS) transitioned to the Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES). The data formerly collected for the SAS will now be collected as part of the AIES, which began data collection in March 2024.

2021 Suppression Standards Adjustment

The Service Annual Survey is adjusting its suppression standards beginning with the 2021 publication scheduled for November 2022. In previous releases, estimates with a coefficient of variation greater than 30 percent or with a total quantity response rate less than 50 percent have been suppressed from publication. Moving forward, estimates with a coefficient of variation greater than 40 percent or with a total quantity response rate less than 40 percent will be suppressed from publication. These estimates will be replaced with an “S” in the public tables. Estimates whose coefficient of variation is greater than 30 percent but less than or equal to 40 percent will be identified with a subscript (s).
