ASEC User Note: Redesign of the Geographic Mobility Table Package: 2019
The Journey-to-Work and Migration Statistics Branch has produced annual tables on geographical mobility since 1947. Since their inception, these tables have been modified to meet the needs of data users. Specifically, some income categories have been collapsed to increase their usefulness for analysis. However, all new collapsed categories are combinations of more specific income categories that were included in 2018. Clarifying language about the metropolitan status of geographies was added (see separate user note). The reason for move tables now include updated information about the implementation of the write-in expansion recoding as of 2019 (see separate user note). There were also some further improvements to labels and formatting. The detailed spreadsheet below outlines the changes between the following Geographic Mobility table packages: 2014 and 2015; 2014 and 2017; 2017 and 2018, and 2018 and 2019.
