The Community Resilience Estimates (CRE) for Puerto Rico provide an easily understood metric for a community’s capacity to withstand and recover from external stressors or disasters – such as hurricanes or hazardous events. The CRE for Puerto Rico is part of the Community Resilience Estimates Program and is part of our effort to measure social vulnerability for our nation and its people. To provide context to the estimates and add to the discussion of equity, the CRE program has created the Community Resilience Estimates for Puerto Rico, Equity Supplement.
The dataset provides information about Puerto Rico at the commonwealth, municipio and census tract geographic levels using four different data sources. These sources include the Community Resilience Estimates, the Puerto Rico Community Survey, the Decennial Census, and the Census Bureau’s Planning Database. Providing all this information in one dataset allows users quick access to the data on a variety of topics concerning social vulnerability and equity.
