BAS Videos

This series provides a high-level overview of the Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) and information needed in order to get started with a program submission. The videos demonstrate how to review existing boundary data, complete the Annual Response form, and determine eligibility for participation in a BAS agreement.

This series discusses digital Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) requirements and provides information for participants who plan to use the Geographic Update Partnership Software (GUPS) to create a program submission. The videos demonstrate how to download the software and start a new project, how to use the software to create updates to boundaries and linear features, how to perform quality control checks, and export files for submission.

The video discusses tribal geography, provides a list of tribal geographies eligible for program submission, lists documentation requirements, and provides additional resources for creating a Tribal BAS submission.

The Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) is an annual opportunity for tribal, state, and local governments to review and update the U.S. Census Bureau's legal boundary data. This webinar provides a high-level overview of BAS, demonstrates how to complete a BAS submission using the BAS Partnership Toolbox for ArcGIS Pro and the Geographic Update Partnership Software (GUPS) Web application, and how to return BAS updates using the Secure Web Incoming Module (SWIM).
