The Census Bureau did not release its standard 2020 ACS 1-year estimates because of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the Census Bureau released experimental estimates from the 1-year data. They are posted on the 2020 ACS 1-Year Experimental Data Release page. They will not be released on data.census.gov.
Table IDs for the 2020 ACS 1-year experimental tables begin with “XK”. They are similar in format to the 2019 1-year supplemental estimates published on data.census.gov with a Table ID that begins with “K”. For example, 2020 table XK200101 uses the same categories, definitions, and universe as the 2019 table K200101.
Data users should note the following changes to the 2020 tables:
Row labels changed from “Male householder, no wife present” and “Female householder, no husband present” to “Male householder, no spouse present” and “Female householder, no spouse present”, respectively for XK200901, XK201101, and XK201703. This update was made to make the 2020 labels consistent with the change to “no spouse” that was implemented in 2019 to other tables which also use these categories.
