2014-2018 ACS 5-year Estimates

Please note that the links to the tables contained here are to table shells, which are blank tables that do not contain any data. They are used for illustrative purposes to show which variables can be found in a particular table. If you are looking for data, please visit data.census.gov.

New Tables

Income and Earnings
  • New Detailed Table B19123 on family income shows family size by cash public assistance income or households receiving food stamps/SNAP benefits in the past 12 months. The table shows all families and families by size ranging from two-person families to seven-or-more-person families.
Occupation
  • Three new detailed tables provide estimates for detailed occupation for the civilian employed population 16 years and over B24114, the male civilian employed population 16 years and over B24115, and the female civilian employed population 16 years and over B24116.
Citizen, Voting-Age Population
  • Four new detailed tables providing five-year estimates for the citizen, voting-age population by age B29001, by educational attainment B29002, by poverty status B29003, and median household income B29004. One new subject table providing five-year estimates for the citizen, voting-age population by selected characteristics S2902.

Modified Tables

Disability
  • Census Bureau occupation codes used to create the categories in the occupation section for Subject Table S1811 were updated to reflect revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes.
Educational Attainment
  • Data Profile DP02 now includes the estimate for high school graduate or higher and bachelor’s degree of higher for the population 25 years and over.
Foreign-Born Population
  • Detailed Table B05011 was modified to change the top-end category from “2010 or later” to “2015 or later.” Categories "Naturalized 1985 to 1989," "Naturalized 1980 to 1984," and "Naturalized before 1980" were combined into "Naturalized before 1990."
  • Census Bureau occupation codes used to create the categories in the occupation section for Subject Tables S0501, S0502, S0502PR, S0503, S0504, S0505 and S0506 were updated to reflect revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes.
Group Quarters
  • Rows were eliminated for Detailed Tables B26101, B26108, B26201, and B26208 that contained age categories that are out of range for group quarters types: adult correctional facilities, nursing facilities/skilled-nursing facilities, juvenile facilities, college/university student housing, and military quarters.
  • The category Juvenile Facilities was removed from Detailed Table B26208.
  • Lines were added to Detailed Tables B26114 and B26214 and Subject Tables S2602 and S2603 for people not in the labor force for institutional group quarters types: adult correctional facilities, nursing facilities/skilled-nursing facilities, and juvenile facilities.
  • People born in American Samoa were added to the “Other” region category for Detailed Table B26212.
  • Census Bureau occupation codes used to create the categories in the occupation section for Detailed Tables B26115, B26215, S2601A, S2601APR, S2602, S2602PR, and S2603 were updated to reflect revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes.
Health Insurance
  • Census Bureau occupation codes used to create the categories in the occupation section for Subject Tables S2702 and S2702PR were updated to reflect revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes.
Housing
  • Changes were made to the top and bottom end of the distribution for tables with year-based distributions for Year Moved into Unit. The top category was expanded to “2017 or later” and “2015 to 2016” from the previous upper category of “2015 or later.” The bottom category was changed to “1989 or earlier” from “1979 or earlier.”
Income and Earnings
  • Subject Table S1903 now shows the number of families by family size.
  • Subject Table S2002 now shows median earnings for the total number of full-time, year-round workers 15 years and over with earnings. Census Bureau occupation codes used to create the categories in the occupation section were updated to reflect revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes.
Industry
Journey to Work and Migration
  • Census Bureau occupation codes used to create the categories in the occupation section for tables B08124, B08524, S0802, and S0804 were updated to reflect revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes.
Occupation
Poverty Status
  • Aggregate income deficit amounts presented in Detailed Tables B17008 and B17011 and mean income deficit amounts in Subject Tables S1701 and S1702 are now adjusted to reference year dollars.
