Comparison Profiles show data side-by-side from the 2006 ACS and the 2007 ACS, indicating where there is a statistically significant difference between these two sets of estimates. An * in the statistical significance column of the comparison profile indicates that the 2006 ACS estimate is significantly different (at a 90% confidence level) from the 2007 ACS estimate. A 'c' indicates the estimates for that year and the current year are both controlled; a statistical test is not appropriate. The comparison profiles are available for 1-year estimates only.
Quality measures accompany each ACS data release. These statistics are provided to help users get a better sense and understanding of the quality of the data. Ten new detailed tables have been created that include specific measures of survey quality. The table identifier and title for each of these tables are listed below.
B98001 | UNWEIGHTED HOUSING UNIT SAMPLE |
B98002 | UNWEIGHTED GROUP QUARTERS POPULATION SAMPLE |
B98011 | HOUSING UNIT COVERAGE RATE |
B98012 | TOTAL POPULATION COVERAGE RATE BY SEX |
B98013 | TOTAL POPULATION COVERAGE RATE BY WEIGHTING RACE AND HISPANIC OR LATINO GROUPS |
B98014 | GROUP QUARTERS POPULATION COVERAGE RATE |
B98021 | HOUSING UNIT RESPONSE AND NONRESPONSE RATES WITH REASONS FOR NONINTERVIEWS |
B98022 | GROUP QUARTERS POPULATION RESPONSE AND NONRESPONSE RATES WITH REASONS FOR NONINTERVIEWS |
B98031 | OVERALL PERSON CHARACTERISTIC IMPUTATION RATE |
B98032 | OVERALL HOUSING UNIT CHARACTERISTIC IMPUTATION RATE |
Nation and state quality measures were previously published on the ACS website but are now accessible from the American FactFinder in the form of detailed tables. Users can learn more about Quality Measure tables by going to either the 2007 Accuracy of the Data document or the 2005-2007 Accuracy of the Data document. Both are located in the Documentation section of this website.
These detailed tables include estimates based on outmigration. The estimates are similar to those available for the geographic mobility tables for current residence but instead of using the current location of the respondent they use the location of the respondent one year ago. Forty-two new tables will be available this year. These new tables allows one to determine the characteristics of persons who LEFT a specified geographic area in the past year, as well as the characteristics of those who stayed in that area.
Twelve Detailed Tables were removed. However, nine of the removed detailed tables (B13004A-I. Women 15-50 Years Who Had a Birth in the Past 12 Months by Marital Status – iterated by race) were replaced by B13002A-I Women 15-50 Years Who Had a Birth in the Past 12 Months by Marital Status by Age. Three tables were deleted:
Collapsed versions were added for fifty-nine detailed tables.
