Error in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 ACS Distribution of Homes within Gross Rent Categories

The U.S. Census Bureau identified a processing error in Table C25068 – Bedrooms by Gross Rent - that affected the distribution of homes within gross rent categories.  The distribution of homes renting for “less than $500” and “$500 or more” shown in Table C25068 was incorrect for all categories of bedrooms for 2015 ACS 1-year, 2016 ACS 1-year, and 2017 ACS 1-year tables. The estimate labelled as renting for “less than $500” is instead the number of units renting for “less than $750”; the estimate labelled as renting for “$500 or more” is instead the number of units renting for “$750 or more.”  The estimate of units renting for “less than $500” and” $500 or more” can be obtained by summing the relevant categories from B25068.   This error has been corrected beginning with the 2018 ACS 1-year tables.
