Error in the 2006 to 2013 ACS Tables B10051 and S1002
An error was discovered in Table B10051, “Grandparents Living with Own Grandchildren Under 18 Years by Responsibility for Own Grandchildren by Presence of Parent of Grandchildren and Age of Grandparent,” for the ACS 1, 3, and 5-year data tables beginning with data year 2006.
Nationally, a small number of cases (7,100 or 0.1 percent of the total universe) were mistakenly included in the line "Householder or spouse with no parent of grandchildren present" which should have been included in the "Other grandparents" line. This error also affected Subject Table S1002, "Grandparents."
The tables will be corrected in the 2014 ACS 1-year data and future data releases.
