2019 Product Calendar

The U.S. Census Bureau has posted anticipated release dates for each regular and recurring statistical product scheduled for release in 2019. These products are listed in the Census Bureau’s online product calendar, which is updated as needed throughout the year.

Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes

The U.S. Census Bureau will release new data on employment mobility for college graduates as part of the Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes pilot research program. These new data show how college graduates are employed and in which industries, and their employment mobility. The Census Bureau plans to release a new visualization tool soon that will make it easier to interact with the data. (Tentatively scheduled for release Aug. 6.)

American Community Survey

The Older Foreign-Born Population in the United States: 2012-2016

This report describes the foreign-born population 65 years and older in the United States using data from the 2012-2016 American Community Survey. The study examines population size and geographic distribution; social and demographic characteristics (sex, age, race and Hispanic origin, country and region of birth, year of entry, citizenship status, language spoken at home, marital status, educational attainment, disability status, living arrangements); and economic characteristics (homeownership, labor force participation, poverty status, health insurance coverage, and income). (Tentatively scheduled for release in July.)

2013-2017 American Community Survey Migration

This product provides information about the domestic migration of persons one year and over using 2013-2017 American Community Survey five-year estimates. Tables include migration flows between counties, metro areas and a limited number of minor civil divisions based on residence one year ago. (Scheduled for release Aug. 29.)

The Older Population in Rural America: 2012-2016

This report uses 2012-2016 American Community Survey five-year estimates to study the population 65 years old and over in rural America relative to their urban counterparts. This research looks at the demographic (sex, age, race and Hispanic origin), social (living arrangements, marital status, educational attainment and disability status), economic (employment status, income, poverty status and health insurance), and geographic characteristics of older Americans. (Tentatively scheduled for release in late August.)

Micropolitan America Infographic

The U.S. Census Bureau will release the Micropolitan America infographic which gives a concise look at population growth, demographics, and economic activity for America’s micropolitan statistical areas. Micropolitan statistical areas are core based statistical areas that provide a lens on small-town America. (Tentatively scheduled for release July 23.)

Updates to HIV/AIDS Database

The U.S. Census Bureau’s annual update adds new data to this interactive global resource on the prevalence of HIV infection and AIDS cases and deaths in over 200 countries and areas around the world. The HIV/AIDS Surveillance DataBase compiles information on HIV infection and the AIDS pandemic from medical and scientific literature, presentations at international conferences, and the press. (Tentatively scheduled for release July 24.)

Current Population Survey Fertility Table Package

The U.S. Census Bureau will release the 2018 Current Population Survey fertility table package, which includes fertility data for women ages 15 to 50. The tables show fertility measures such as childlessness and children ever born to women by demographic characteristics. (Tentatively scheduled for release in July.)

Learn about how health care data from the Census Bureau can be valuable to you. These webinars, presented by subject matter experts, provide information on Census Bureau data from business and demographic programs based on popular topics. (Scheduled for release July 25.)

2016 Statistics of U.S. Businesses Tables

These data include number of establishments and corresponding employment change for births, deaths, expansions and contractions from 2015 to 2016. The data are presented by geographic area, industry and enterprise employment size. (Tentatively scheduled for release July 31.)

2017 County Business Patterns First Look

For the first time ever, the County Business Patterns program is releasing preliminary estimates for the 2017 data at the U.S. level and the sector level (two-digit NAICS). The County Business Patterns statistics include the number of establishments, first quarter employees, and first quarter and annual payroll. (Tentatively scheduled for release July 31.)

Census Business Builder 2.6

This release will include new Employment and related data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages as well as updates to other Census Bureau data. It will also include new region selection options in the Regional Analyst Edition, and the ability to drill down to detailed business size data in both editions. (Tentatively scheduled for release Aug. 16.)

Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15)

During this monthlong observance, our nation celebrates the culture and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico and the Spanish-speaking nations of Central America, South America and the Caribbean. The Census Bureau joins in the celebration with this fact sheet presenting a range of updated statistics describing the demographic state of the nation’s Latino population. U.S. Census Bureau Releases Technical Notes on Select Topics in International Censuses

July 12 — Leading up to the 2020 round of international censuses, the U.S. Census Bureau has been releasing a series of technical notes on Select Topics in International Censuses. Each note highlights a new subject, method or operation relevant to census planners in middle- to low-income countries. These notes complement the U.N. Principles and Recommendations on Population and Housing Censuses by describing certain topics in more detail. Sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Select Topics in International Censuses series is designed to assist staff in national statistical offices as they address some significant issues in the 2020 round of international censuses.

July 8 — Geographers from the U.S. Census Bureau, along with thousands of other geospatial professionals from across the globe, presented geospatial methodologies and innovations at the 2019 Esri User Conference, July 8-12, 2019, in San Diego, Ca. Monthly and Average Monthly Poverty Rates by Selected Demographic Characteristics: 2015

July 17 — This week the Census Bureau released a new report on how individuals experience short-term poverty, summarizing monthly poverty rates over the year 2015 from the Survey of Income and Program Participation. Overall, the monthly poverty rate of 14.1% in January of 2015 was not statistically different from the rate in December 2015. However, over the course of 2015, monthly poverty rates for adults ages 18 to 64 declined from 13.8% in January to 13.1% in December.

Net Worth of Households: 2015

July 12 — This brief uses the Survey of Income and Program Participation to examine household net worth in 2015 and compares it with net worth in 2014. Examples of assets discussed in the brief are home equity, retirement accounts, vehicle equity, stocks and assets at financial institutions.

Census Bureau Releases Schedule for Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Statistics and American Community Survey Results

July 11 — The U.S. Census Bureau’s schedule for the release of the 2018 income, poverty and health insurance coverage statistics from the Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current Population Survey and the 2018 American Community Survey.

July 17 — The Business Formation Statistics provide timely and high‐frequency data on business applications and employer business formations on a quarterly basis. Characteristics of New Housing: 2018

July 1 — Using data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau’s Survey of Construction, which is jointly funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, this report provides annual statistics on the characteristics of new privately owned residential structures by census region. The report includes characteristics such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the location of the laundry, presence of homeowner’s association, the buyer’s source of financing, and the structure’s square footage.
