Census Bureau Director Kenneth Prewitt will brief the news media on Census 2000 operations at 9:30 a.m., EST, Thursday, Jan. 6, at a local census office in Washington, D.C.

Topics will cover opening of the 520 local census offices across the country, recruitment of census workers, and other operational issues.
