Media Advisory — Census Bureau to Release 2010 Census Demographic Profiles for Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and the United States

What:
Next week, the U.S. Census Bureau will release 2010 Census Demographic Profiles for Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Virginia. With the release of data for all the states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, profiles will be available for the nation, regions, metropolitan areas, American Indian and Alaska Native areas, and other cross-state geographies.

The demographic profiles include data on age and sex distributions, race, Hispanic or Latino origin, household relationship and type, the group quarters population, housing occupancy (including vacancy status) and tenure (whether the housing occupant owns or rents).

When:
These demographic profiles will be available on an embargoed basis for accredited media who are registered for access on Tuesday, May 24 at 10 a.m. The embargo will be lifted and the data released publicly on Thursday, May 26 at 12:01 a.m.
