Media Advisory — Census Bureau to Hold Web Conference on Release of Local 2010 Census Data

What:
The Census Bureau will hold a webinar to discuss the upcoming release of local-level data from the 2010 Census. States use these numbers — which include data on race, Hispanic origin and the voting population — to redraw the boundaries of their congressional and state legislative districts. The Census Bureau will deliver the data state-by-state on a rolling basis in February and March.

The webinar will provide a detailed explanation of what kind of data will be available, how they will be released, what geographies will be included and how to access the numbers. It will conclude with a question-and-answer session for reporters.

When:
Monday, Jan. 31, 1 p.m. EST

Cathy McCully, chief, Census Redistricting Data Office
