JUNE 27, 2024 — The U.S. Census Bureau today announced five new partners for its Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) experimental data product, which offers prospective post-secondary students a comprehensive assessment tool to find out how much they could potentially earn by degree, field of study and institution.
The PSEO now includes data on an additional 93 institutions from Illinois Board of Higher Education (IL); Illinois Community College Board (IL); West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (WV); Bryant University (RI); and Western Governors University (PSEO’s first online-only school). This release increases PSEO coverage to 33% of all college graduates in the United States. PSEO now includes data from 926 institutions in the United States.
PSEO tabulations show employment and earnings outcomes for graduates of U.S. post-secondary institutions by degree level and fields of study as well as employment by geography and industry sector, making it useful data to policymakers and businesses too. Data users can access the information – generated by linking graduate transcript records to Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics data – via the PSEO Explorer tool, raw files and Census API.
