Press Release Number CB20-TPS.76

OCT. 20, 2020 – Today, the U.S. Census Bureau celebrates the third observance of World Statistics Day as part of a global collective effort to recognize the importance of statistical data sharing.

Organized under the guidance of the United Nations Statistical Commission, World Statistics Day invites world governments to participate in detailing their statistical innovations every five years. To learn more about how the Census Bureau is honoring the 2020 theme, “Connecting the world with data we can trust,” check out our Celebrating World Statistics Day 2020 America Counts article that details recent innovations and a video message from Director Steve Dillingham to reflect on the importance of trust, authoritative data, innovation, and the public good in national statistical systems.

The Census Bureau is committed to developing data solutions to produce relevant, timely, accessible, and secure statistics to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s world. These statistics will help guide our country in the weeks and years ahead. We are honored we can use data innovations to weave together the story of our complex society.
