JUNE 17 — The data tables for Recent Food Insufficiency (Tables 4 and 5 in the Food Sufficiency and Food Security Section) for week 1 through week 5 (April 23-June 2) were removed and replaced on June 17 as a result of a data processing error for one of the variables. The tables for all weeks have been updated. Please disregard any previous versions.
JUNE 17, 2020 — The Census Bureau today released new data from the experimental Household Pulse Survey. The Household Pulse Survey is the result of an effort by the Census Bureau and other federal statistical agencies to document temporal trends in how individuals are experiencing business curtailment and closures, stay-at-home orders, school closures, changes in the availability of consumer goods and consumer patterns, and other abrupt and significant changes to American life.
The Census Bureau expects to produce and disseminate data on a weekly basis. The sample is designed to produce estimates for all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as for the 15 largest metropolitan statistical areas. Results are scheduled to be released every Wednesday through mid-July 2020.
