Census Bureau Jobs Available for 2017 Census of Agriculture

Press Release Number: CB17-99

NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS

JUNE 15, 2017 — The U.S. Census Bureau's National Processing Center in Jeffersonville, Ind., plans to hire 200-plus temporary employees to help process the 2017 Census of Agriculture.

This census, which is conducted every five years on behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, is a nationwide data collection effort to count every farm in the United States. Our nation uses this vital information to set and make policy decisions and to track a wide range of farm-related products and services provided to our families across the nation.

Applications are being accepted now for high-volume mail assembly and mailout operations, and clerical and data entry support. Positions range from $14.07 to $28.85 per hour. Qualified residents can apply now.

For a listing of current openings, go to <www.usajobs.gov> and enter "NPC" in the box titled "Keywords." To apply online, select the jobs you are interested in and click Apply. Each job announcement will contain complete benefit information.

Job fair opportunities: Representatives from the National Processing Center's Human Resources Office will be attending two local job fairs to help fill upcoming hiring needs on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at 300 Spring Street, Jeffersonville, Ind., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Veterans and individuals with disabilities receive special hiring preference and can find more information by visiting <www.usajobs.gov>, attending one of the job fairs or calling 812-218-3550.
