Stacy Gimbel Vidal is the Editorial Content Advisor in the Public Information Office. In her role, she creates or coordinates internal and public-facing content about the Census Bureau’s work, with the goal of transparency and communicating in plain language. For example, she worked with subject matter experts to develop and publish a series of blog posts about 2020 Census data quality.

She is currently coordinating the news releases and outreach for the 2020 Census data products, a role she held for the 2010 Census data products.

Stacy previously served as Chief of the Media Relations Branch, leading a team of public affairs specialists responsible for cultivating relationships with the media and planning, implementing and evaluating media outreach activities for the Census Bureau. She worked with hundreds of national, regional and local media contacts, assisting them with finding and understanding Census Bureau statistics and current topics. She developed and conducted training and webinars on accessing Census Bureau statistics and coordinated numerous news conferences and audio news briefings.

The Florida-native joined the U.S. Census Bureau in 2006 and received bachelor’s degrees in public relations and finance from the University of Florida.
