Miguel Marino

Miguel Marino

Miguel Marino is Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Marino is a National Academy of Medicine Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine Fellow, statistical editor for JAMA Health Forum, co-chair of the NIH Community Engagement Alliance Needs Assessment & Evaluation Work Group, and co-director of the Primary Care Latino Equity Research Lab.

His scholarly work focuses on community-based and national-level population studies. He develops and implements novel statistical methodology to address complexities associated with the use of administrative data (e.g. electronic health records) to study health equity and changes in health policy among low-income disadvantaged populations seeking care in primary care clinics. He currently leads studies for improving how we collect, investigate, and utilize Latino disaggregated data in health equity research.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Applied Science and master’s degree in Biostatistics from the University of California Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Harvard University.
