Julio Guity-Guevara, LL.M., is the Managing Director of SUDECC, Inc. a consulting firm that promotes sustainable development and delivers services to facilitate the implementation of projects in vulnerable communities. Julio has received multiple recognitions. In 2020 he was selected as one of the top 40 Latinx experts in U.S. national security and foreign policy by the Diversity in National Security Network and New America. He was appointed by the Mayor of Washington, DC in 2015 and reappointed in 2019 to serve as the Deputy Director of the Executive Office of the Mayor, Office on Latino Affairs where he oversaw the administration of grants and implemented the Mayor’s initiatives in the Latino community.
As an entrepreneur, Julio focuses on creating economic opportunities, reducing income inequalities and fighting climate change. In 2002, Julio began his career in international development by joining the Organization of American States (OAS) as an Attorney Fellow for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Subsequently, as a legal advisor and project attorney, he provided technical services to the World Bank Group (WBG), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). While working at these organizations, he developed an expertise in international project finance, dispute settlement mechanisms and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). He holds a Master of Laws, with a specialization in International Business Law from Washington College of Law, American University.
