Jody Hoon-Starr is a geographer and application developer within the Longitudinal-Employer Household Dynamics (LEHD) program for the Center for Economic Studies (CES) at the Census Bureau. His work primarily includes building and maintaining web-based data dissemination applications and geographic data pipelines in support of the LEHD and CES public use data products. Recent efforts include the development of the Post-Secondary Education Outcomes, Business Dynamics Statistics, and the Veteran Employment Outcomes web applications.

Prior to joining the LEHD program, Jody worked at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Cryospheric Sciences Laboratory with a focus on studying and improving satellite snow and ice detection algorithms.

Jody holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a master’s from the University of Maryland, College Park in Geographic Information Systems.
