Jennifer Cheeseman Day is the assistant division chief for employment characteristics in the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division of the U.S. Census Bureau.
She oversees the agency’s statistics on health insurance, disability and the labor force from several Census Bureau surveys. Day has authored numerous Census Bureau reports and papers.
Previously, she served as the chief of the Education and Social Stratification Branch and as an analyst in the Population Projections Branch. She earned her doctoral degree in sociology from American University. She attended Georgetown University's demography program and Rollins College. She has received four Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Awards, as well as the Census Bureau Director's Award for Innovation.
