Elizabeth Poehler oversees the Enumeration Methods and Requirements Branch, which is responsible for developing and coordinating statistical requirements for data collection operations during the decennial census. The branch develops and analyzes methods to improve census coverage accuracy, including questionnaire developments and residence definitions. The branch also performs operational analyses to assess the performance of data collection operations and changes that might be needed. 

Poehler joined the Census Bureau in 1998 as a mathematical statistician. She received a master’s degree in survey methodology from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in applied statistics from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has received two Bronze Medal Awards from the Census Bureau for her work on coverage in the Census.
