Edward Berchick

Survey Statistician, Health and Disability Statistics Branch Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division U.S. Census Bureau

Edward Berchick is a survey statistician in the Health and Disability Statistics Branch in the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division of the U.S. Census Bureau.

Edward works with data related to health insurance, disability and health status in the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement and the American Community Survey.

He has published reports and papers on health insurance coverage, health status and related measurement issues. His other research has focused on health inequalities across cohorts and across the life course.

During spring semesters, Berchick teaches an undergraduate course on health inequalities at George Washington University. Before coming to the Census Bureau, he was a postdoctoral associate at Duke University.

Berchick holds a PhD from Princeton University, an MPH from Yale University, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
