Division Chief, American Community Survey Office

Donna M. Daily is division chief of the American Community Survey Office (ACSO) at the U.S. Census Bureau.

Daily directs the American Community Survey (ACS), the nation’s largest demographic survey and principal source of social, demographic, economic, and housing information. The survey generates data that help determine how billions in federal and state funds are distributed each year. The ACS is the nation’s most current, reliable, and accessible data source for local statistics on critical planning topics such as age, children, veterans, commuting, education, income, and employment.

Daily has worked at the Census Bureau for 36 years. She previously led ACSO’s Data Collection Area, served as a special assistant to the ACSO division chief, and headed the Housing Unit Non-Response Data Collection Branch. Among her many accomplishments at ACSO, Donna helped launch the first ACS internet platform and implemented multiple innovative methods to reduce respondent burden.  

Daily received her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and a master's certificate in project management from George Washington University. She is a certified project management professional and business analyst. She is an Excellence in Government senior fellow. Daily has received several Department of Commerce Bronze Medals for her work.
