Dale Kelly is the Chief of Field Division, the Census Bureau’s largest organizational unit. In this position, Dale is responsible for directing the activities of thousands of permanent staff and hundreds of thousands of temporary staff in the Census Bureau’s six regions, headquarters, and temporary locations across the nation.  This is a massive responsibility, overseeing the efforts of this remarkable workforce in every neighborhood throughout the United States.

Dale began her career at the Census Bureau in the Demographic Directorate and has worked in the Decennial and Economic Directorates. She has a rich and diverse background in data collection and processing activities. Most recently, Dale was the chief of the International Trade Management Division, directing the plans and programs that provide the infrastructure for producing the U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services Report (FT-900). For the past four months, she has successfully directed the programs and operations of the National Processing Center in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Dale is a recipient of numerous awards for distinguished service in the federal government. She is a graduate of Norfolk State University.
