Adam Grundy began his career at the Census Bureau in 2009 as part of the Investment Goods Industries Branch in the Manufacturing and Construction Division. Adam worked as a survey analyst in the Computers and Electronic Products NAICS and published a quarterly Current Industrial Report on the same topic. Shortly after, Adam moved to the Economic Indicators Division to work as a survey analyst in the Manufacturer’s Shipments, Inventories and Orders Survey (M3). He continued to work within the Computers and Electronics Products NAICS while in M3 and helped with preparing various press releases for the economic indicator.

During his tenure in M3, Adam was selected as a leader for the Economic Directorate’s (ECON) first General Workforce Advisory Board. Adam served as the board’s president from its initial start-up in the summer of 2014 through early 2016. Along with 13 other representatives across ECON, Adam led his colleagues by establishing a charter for the board, facilitating presentations at town halls, and engineering a general workforce survey in order to provide detailed recommendations to ECON’s senior leadership.

Adam most recently worked in the Economy-Wide Statistics Division as a survey analyst in the Healthcare and Education Branch. He helped analyze data for both the Economic Census as well as the Services Annual Survey. During his tenure in the services area, Adam was elected as a co-leader for the Joint Sub Committee for Communication with Kristen Corwin.

During Adam’s tenure in the Data User Outreach and Education Branch in the International Trade Management Division, he has taken several leadership roles. For example, Adam developed an online calendar for the ECON Directorate, participated in several key stakeholder meetings for developing the Census Business Builder data platform, and served as a valuable member of the Data Outreach team for the Census Bureau.

Adam has written several articles for the America Counts series for census.gov and continues to look for new and interesting ways to share ECON data products with the public.

Adam received a bachelor’s degree in human studies and a certification in elementary education. He lives in Silver Spring, MD with his wife Jill, son Bennett, and daughters Julia and Cecilia. Adam enjoys playing soccer, golf and singing in a cover band.
