The 2014 congressional election turnout rate of 41.9 percent was the lowest since 1978. Find out more on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at approximately 9:15 a.m. EDT as Thom File, a sociologist in the the U.S. Census Bureau’s Education and Social Stratification Statistics Branch, discusses national statistics about historical trends of voters in congressional elections and voting patterns by age, race and Hispanic origin. C-SPAN’s “America by the Numbers” segments feature information from the federal statistical system. The program highlights trends and allows the public to call in or email their views.
