2010 Census Congressional District Summary File (113th Congress)

For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 11, 2013

2010 Census Congressional District Summary File (113th Congress)

Press Release Number CB13-TPS.41

This summary file contains the same subject-matter content as the 2010 Census Summary File 1 — age (including single years of age), sex, race and Hispanic or Latino origin (including detailed population groups), household type, relationship, population in group quarters, whether the residence is owned or rented (tenure) and vacancy status — retabulated for the congressional district boundaries of the 113th Congress. These congressional district boundaries were submitted by state officials following the legislative redistricting that occurred after the 2010 Census. The file provides data for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico; congressional districts; and selected geographic entities within the congressional districts: counties, county subdivisions, census tracts, places, American Indian and Alaska Native areas, and Hawaiian home lands. A demographic profile, quick tables and geographic comparison tables from this dataset will be available in the near future.

The release of the 2011 American Community Survey statistics earlier this year and the release of 2012 statistics in September 2013 also provide data for the 113th Congressional Districts. Differences between the American Community Survey statistics and the 2010 Census counts could be attributed to demographic changes since 2010 (births, deaths and migration), survey methodology, data collection differences and population controls, along with other possible factors.
