"How Do U.S. Students Compare Internationally?" Live on the "America by the Numbers" Segment of C-SPAN's "Washington Journal"

Jan. 18 at 9:15 a.m. — In 2011, students in more than 50 countries were tested, and U.S. fourth-graders improved in reading and math. Jack Buckley, the commissioner for the National Center for Education Statistics, discusses the latest international assessments of reading, math and science, and the U.S. results for fourth- and eighth-graders. Most Fridays, C-SPAN's "America by the Numbers" segment on its "Washington Journal" show features information from the federal statistical system. The program highlights trends and allows the public to call in or email their views. More information on previous C-SPAN programs is available at <//www.census.gov/newsroom/cspan.html>.
