I will first discuss some issues and trade-offs in the measurement of housing prices that are relevant to the proposed changes in poverty measures. Second, I will present a brief proposal for how we might incorporate housing price measures into an experimental poverty measure using hedonic indexes and data more or less at hand. Finally, I will briefly discuss some long-range research issues.
