This paper attempts to describe the relationship between the percent of population uniques on a microdata file from a specific geographic region and the size of the geographic region. In most cases, when a geographic region is enlarged, the percent of individuals or households in that region which are unique decreases. This is because some of the individuals or households which are added to the region when the region is enlarged have the same combination of key variables as those individuals or households which were unique in the smaller region.
