Organization Name: National Disability Rights Network

Headquarters: Washington, D.C.

About: The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) is the nonprofit membership organization for federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) and Client Assistance Program (CAP) agencies serving people with disabilities. Collectively, the 57 P&A and CAP agencies are the largest provider of legally based advocacy services to people with disabilities in the United States.

NDRN and P&A agencies across the country worked closely with the U.S. Census Bureau and its disability and civil rights partners to ensure that everyone was counted in the 2020 Census. This work included collaborating with partners on accessible materials, such as Braille and large-print forms; conducting social media campaigns; and advocating for people with disabilities to have a voice in a fair, accurate, and accessible 2020 Census. NDRN also created a 2020 Census  webpage  on its website and hosted a webinar about how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the counting of people with disabilities.

"Responses from the 2020 Census will also help us understand who we are as a nation and shape America's future for the next 10 years. Although disability data is not collected in the 2020 Census, it is vital for people with disabilities, who are a part of every community, to actively engage with this year's census."

—Curtis Decker, Executive Director of the National Disability Rights Network
