This report includes projections of the number of households and families in the United States for the years 1995 to 2010. These numbers are based on the 1990 census, as enumerated, with modifications for age and race 1 , and household estimates from 1991 to 1994 2 , and are projected forward using alternative marital status and household type proportions. These household projections are not intended as a forecast, but represent the results of assumptions about future trends in population change and household formation.
