This report provides data based on the 1978 survey in a series of biennial surveys known as the National Sample of Scientists and Engineers. Profiled are agricultural scientists, biologists, and medical scientists. Data include the age-sex-race composition of the target group, their geographic location by region and division, education and training, labor force participation, and salary, as well as professional experience and growth in numbers of persons in the field.
