1970 Census - Population, Subject Reports: Government Workers

This report presents national statistics on the occupation and industry of government workers cross-classified by selected social and economic characteristics. The data are based on the 1970 Census of Population

The text consists of an introduction and Appendices A through E, which appear after the tables.

  • Tables 1-16 – occupation data for government workers crossclassified by selected social and economic characteristics
  • Table 17 – occupation by industry of employed government workers
  • Tables 18-26 – industry data for government workers
  • Table 27 – summary of employed government workers for regions, divisions, and States

Sample size. The statistics in this report are based on a sample adjusted to represent the total population. All of the data are based on the 20-percent sample, except those on persons of Spanish origin, which are based on the 5-percent sample. (See "Data Collection Procedures" in Appendix A.)
