Of the 179.9 million persons 1 year old and over living in the United States in April 1962, 35.2 million, or 19.6 percent, had moved at least once since April 1961. About 34.4 million, or 19.1 percent, were living in a different house in the United States and an additional 854,000 persons, or 0.5 percent, were living abroad in April 1961.
