Preface

This is a comprehensive procedural report on the methodology of the 1960 Censuses of Population and Housing of the United States. It covers the procedures from the early stages of planning and pretesting through the tabulation and publication of final reports.

These censuses, together with the 1959 Census of Agriculture and related surveys, comprise the Eighteenth Decennial Census of the United States.
