1950 Censuses of Agriculture & Population: Farms and Farm People: Population, Income, and Housing Characteristics by Economic Class of Farm
The purpose of this report is to bring together data to show characteristics of the farm operator families, their housing, and other items including amounts and sources of family income by farm characteristics, particularly economic class of farm and net cash income of farm families.
The data on which this report are based were obtained by matching records for the 1950 Censuses of Agriculture and Population for approximately 11,000 farms and farm operators.
A Note on Language
Census statistics date back to 1790 and reflect the growth and change of the United States. Past census reports contain some terms that today’s readers may consider obsolete and inappropriate.
